Terms of Service

Last Updated: March 2026

By installing and using the Student Peer Assessment Hub suite of Add-ons for Google Slides and Google Docs (the "Add-on"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Add-on.

1. Description of Service

The Student Peer Assessment Hub is an educational tool designed to facilitate formative peer review, rubric scoring, and AI-assisted feedback generation within the Google Workspace ecosystem. The tool is provided free of charge for educators and students.

2. User Responsibilities & API Usage

3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

The Add-on utilizes Generative AI (Google Gemini) to process peer comments and student text. Generative AI is an experimental technology and can occasionally produce inaccurate, biased, or hallucinated outputs. The developer bears no responsibility for the accuracy of the AI-generated feedback. Educators should always review AI-generated action plans and summaries before finalizing grades or returning them to students.

4. Intellectual Property & Academic Free License

The code, design, and architecture of the Add-on remain the intellectual property of the developer, Dr. Waleed Mandour. The underlying source code of this Add-on is published openly for the research and educational community under the Academic Free License version 3.0 (AFL-3.0) [https://doi.org/10.17605/OSF.IO/2MZWN]. This allows you to freely use, modify, and distribute the software, provided that original copyright attribution is maintained.

Please note: You retain full ownership of all personal content, presentations, essays, rubrics, and data generated or processed through your use of the Add-on. The developer claims no ownership over your classroom data.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Add-on is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. The developer does not guarantee that the Add-on will function uninterrupted, error-free, or in perpetuity, as it relies on third-party APIs (Google Workspace, QuickChart, etc.) that may change their operational structures.

6. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the developer be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not loss of data, loss of class time, or API quota charges, arising out of the use or inability to use the Add-on.
