This Privacy Policy governs the use of the Student Peer Assessment Hub suite of Google Workspace Add-ons (including the editions for Google Slides and Google Docs), developed by Dr. Waleed Mandour.

2. Data We Access and Why

To provide its core pedagogical functions, the Add-on requires access to specific Google Workspace tools. The Add-on operates exclusively within the user's own Google account environment. The requested scopes include:

• Google Slides & Google Docs: To read text for AI summarization, inject Peer Assessment Cover Pages, generate live average tables, and format slide visuals.
• Google Forms: To dynamically generate the assessment rubrics tailored to your presentation or document.
• Google Sheets: To create a backend database in your Google Drive to permanently store student peer-review responses and scores.
• External Requests: To securely send text prompts to the Gemini AI API, generate QR codes via QR Server, and render visual charts via QuickChart.

3. Data Storage & Developer Access (Zero-Knowledge)

The developer does NOT collect, store, or transmit your data to any external proprietary databases.

All student evaluations, essays, presentations, and generated Google Sheets remain completely private and are saved exclusively on the user's personal or institutional Google Drive. The developer has absolutely no access to your documents, forms, student data, or Gemini API keys.

4. Third-Party API Integrations

To function properly, the Add-on communicates with the following secure third-party services:

• Google Gemini API (AI Studio): If the user inputs a Gemini API key, peer comments and essay excerpts are sent to Google's generative AI to produce consensus summaries and feedforward action plans. This data is subject to Google's AI Studio Privacy Policy.
• QuickChart.io & QR Server: Non-sensitive metadata (such as form URLs and numerical average scores) are sent to these services solely to generate the visual Word Clouds, Radar Charts, and scannable QR codes.

5. FERPA and Educational Compliance

Because this tool does not extract or host student data on external developer servers, it aligns with standard institutional privacy requirements (like FERPA). However, educators are responsible for ensuring that their use of Google Workspace and the Gemini AI API complies with their specific school or university IT policies.
